Crackers Of the Week

'I'm proud of you'
- Sainsbury's checkout man near aisle 4 upon gallantly producing my two Bags for Life. pat pat.

'Moses? I've never heard of this word before'
- classmate on helping me proofread an essay on (insert ramble about psycho-analysis here) Moses Aloetta, a character in The Lonely Londoners.

'But Molly does..'
'Yeah but Molly is a cat.'
'Are you saying I'm fat?!'
'Just fatter than the cat.'
- convo with Kyle on why I can't sit on his knee all day.

'Brazilian.'
- random on the tube who came and said this to me.

'I've got a frog in my throat.'
'Eat Molly.'
- Kyle's medical advice.

'So.. are you part of the pataphysics soc as well?'
- in dive pub after meeting a friend who had just been in a meeting with the pataphysics society.

'Four quid entry.'
'You're joking right?'
- door man at said pub

Oh if only I could remember more. Happy Monday folks. xxw

When you go searching on youtube for Zainal Abidin..

Perhaps its the whole 22 degrees of sunshine that's beating down on London today, or this Laura Ashley reject sundress that I wear around the house on days like this (Kyle calls it my Mary Poppins dress - so you can understand why I remain wearing it around the house)?

Or maybe its because Sha and I share the love for this guy? and K's attempts at singing it?

Hence trying to find some old school tunes (who doesn't like Zainal Abidin?) for him to be prepared to sing the next time my karaoke-ing family go 'bah, awang kyle!' on the mic at a wedding urging him to sing.. but that's another story altogether..

or that the people downstairs have gotten out their paddling pool that their kid excitedly calls the swimming pool ( que: awwwwww!! ) ?

It might be because I'm technically on holiday even though I am stuck inside with a deadline for next week but cannot face another day in front of my computer?

It might even be because I am wanting to get my paws on some colourful plastic tumblers for outside and have a bbq..

.. that summer seems just around the corner and just maybe, I'll be on my way home soon. ah well, here's dreaming. xxw

First of the summer sun

Our 'balcony' has looked quite bare all winter and quite frankly a little sad. The remnants of a tiny rose plant that blew into a corner and a single olive plant were the only things to adorn the 3000 x 1000 mm space. Oh and the TV aerial. So two weeks ago at the first signs of spring/summer, Kyle and I went walkies down to the garden centre nearby and pottered around like a couple of old biddies hunting for a couple of additions to our green family.

With a whellbarrow borrowed from the garden centre we plodded on home laiden with tall-hand-like-one, short-curly-one, huge-green-leafy-one, tiny-green-flowers-one, and red-flame-flowers-one. score.

Since giving them their new homes, Molly has found a liking to wondering through the jungle balcony. Am now contemplating getting Molly a pet. Should keep him occupied and all. Then again, he's spoilt as it is.

Now, working on writing, I've spent a couple of afternoons reading out there although today was brilliantly sunny and I had to leave the books inside for once.

Even K ventured out toteing a Magners and bribing me with chocolate cornflakes in order to let him have some room.

Bring on the summer I say. xxw
